Wolf Speaks at Jesuit Campus
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15). Disguised wolves are not figures from the past. They are still on the prowl.
The Jesuit University of Scranton invited Fr. James Martin, S.J., to speak at the “Ignatian Values in Action Lecture” at its Byron Recreation Center on September 17. He also gave a second talk at the DeNaples Center on September 18, 2026.
Fr. Martin, the rainbow Jesuit, has a record that undermines Church teaching. He said Catholics should “reverence” homosexual unions, he supports transgenderism for children, and has promoted blessings for pairs living in public sin.
Although his speaking engagements in Scranton seem innocuous—one concerning his memoirs and another about Ground Zero—he was introduced to attendees on September 17 as a supporter of the LGBT movement.
“Much of Fr. Martin’s work is in support of his LGBTQ ministry and the organization Outreach that grew from his book: ‘Building a Bridge’ both of which work to bring healing and reconciliation to the relationship between the Catholic Church and the LGBTQ community.”[1]
In short, Fr. Martin wants the Church to conform to the immoral LGBT movement.
However, the Catholic Church has always taught that homosexual acts are grave sins against God. Conversion, sacramental confession and amendment of life are the remedy. However, Fr. Martin suggests that immoral relationships are “gifts,” not sins.[2]
Young Catholics Protest
Catholic universities should never amplify voices that support unnatural vice. Therefore, as Fr. Martin spoke on campus on September 18, young Catholic volunteers with TFP Student Action distributed literature outside the DeNaples Center, exposing the errors of the rainbow Jesuit.
At 11:00 a.m., they lined the sidewalk outside the DeNaples Center and prayed the Rosary in reparation to God. The Hail Marys resounded and students and faculty came to see what was happening. One man said Fr. Martin’s agenda is “more than a scandal.”
A little while later, a woman yelled, “I love Fr. James Martin! I have his book!”
Indeed, the wolf has divided the flock.
The Talismanic Word: Hate
During the Rosary, a counter protester scribbled out a sign: “Catholic Gen Z does not condone hate.” She was joined by a second person with another sign: “What happened to love thy neighbor?”
Some fellow Gen Z students missed the “no hate” memo and flipped off the peaceful prayer warriors and ripped up some of their literature.
Various leftist students labeled the rally as “hate,” but TFP volunteer Jon Paul calmly explained how one should practice the spiritual works of mercy, including “admonish the sinner.” This work of mercy comes partly from the Gospel: “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him” (Luke 17:3).
Students gathered to watch the Rosary but were quickly ushered back into the building. Were they getting credits for attending Fr. Martin’s talk?
One student remained outside. He said he never understood why they allowed a pro-LGBT club at his Jesuit high school and mandated support for it.
To help him understand the crisis in the Church, Jon Paul Fabrizio explained the root problem of modernism: the erroneous idea that the world should guide the Church, rather than the Church guide society. The discussion ended cordially. One more soul was encouraged to remain faithful to God.
The Good Shepherd
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep. But the hireling, and he that is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and flieth: and the wolf catcheth, and scattereth the sheep: And the hireling flieth, because he is a hireling: and he hath no care for the sheep” (John 10).
As the Faith is under attack from within, Catholics must have recourse to the Omnipotent Shepherd, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and His Powerful Mother Mary, Shepherdess of the Church.
The growth of homo-heresy might be worse than past heresies, but the solution is still what Our Lady told St. Dominic:
“Dear Dominic, do you know which weapon the Blessed Trinity wants to use to reform the world? …I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the battering ram has always been the Angelic Psalter which is the foundation stone of the New Testament. Therefore, if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, preach my Psalter.”
The shield and sword in this spiritual battle are 2,000 years of Church teaching and the holy rosary. Having such spiritual weapons is more powerful than all the forces of darkness combined.
St. Ignatius of Loyola, pray for us!
