PA March for Life Draws Thousands Against Abortion

Topics:

This year’s Pennsylvania March for Life in Harrisburg was critical, as the battle for the unborn shifted to the states after the reversal of Roe v. Wade in 2022.

Abortionists wished the rain pouring onto Harrisburg would deter pro-lifers from attending the march. But their hopes were dashed as both the rain and the pro-life crusaders came pouring into the capitol, demonstrating their unwavering determination and inspiring resolve.

Thousands gathered to say 'NO' to the sin of abortion.

On September 23, 2024, thousands of pro-life Pennsylvanians attended the March for Life, including throngs of students who highlighted the youthful dynamism of the pro-life movement, as well as many young families blessed with young children.

The massive gathering was a powerful display of unity and strength. Influential pro-life leaders spoke from a stage, including the Most Rev. Nelson J. Perez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, Mrs. Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life Action, and Mark Houck, president of the King’s Men.

Members of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) joined the march with its Holy Choirs of Angels Marching Band. “God Bless America,” “America the Beautiful,” and Marian hymns echoed down State Street, adding an upbeat and patriotic tone to the event.

The staff and students of Saint Louis de Montfort Academy reinforced the ranks of the marching band while TFP volunteers passed out flyers concerning the future of the pro-life movement.

Rain or shine, TFP volunteers love fighting for God's rights.

TFP Student Action is on the front-line of this noble crusade for the unborn. Before the march kicked off, TFP volunteers interviewed several attendees, asking them the following questions:

  1. Is the future of America pro-life or pro-abortion?
  2. Is abortion ever a legitimate “choice”?
  3. Will God bless America if America supports abortion?

The Sin of Abortion vs. the law of God

Every human life represents a marvelous plan of God, which abortion destroys. As the abortion debate escalates, two opposing worldviews come into stark focus. Those who love God defend the unborn, while those who promote the killing of the innocent mock Him.

The presence of Catholic priests and nuns in habit was noteworthy and showed that the backbone of the pro-life movement is Catholic. Pro-lifers throughout the march chanted, “Viva Cristo Rey! Viva Maria Santissima!” while holding crucifixes, banners, and images of Mary. These pro-lifers understand that this is a religious battle between those who love God and those who live for the world.

As the march concluded, the TFP band stood on the capitol steps playing rousing renditions of “Immaculate Mary” and “Hail Holy Queen Enthroned Above.”

Despite the driving rain, nothing but smiles and joy were on the faces of the enthusiastic pro-life crowd.

Make Abortion Unthinkable

Pro-lifers will continue the noble crusade to defend the unborn with even more vigor as the abortion fight intensifies at the state level. But beyond politics and election cycles, the long-term success of the pro-life cause greatly depends on the promotion of public morality.

With Divine assistance, the truth will prevail over abortion and the culture of death. As Americans, we beseech God and the Blessed Virgin Mary for the strength to overcome the evil of abortion and hasten the conversion of our beloved nation.

With the grace of God, the culture of death will crumble. Let's unite, raise our voices, and stand up for the rights of the unborn. Together, we can restore a culture that loves God and follows His holy commandments in Pennsylvania and beyond.

Join us in our next event and be a part of this noble cause.
