Brutal Attack on Pro-Life Rally Injures 12 Police Officers
On the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, 2026, a brutal attack was attempted against pro-life demonstrators in Göttingen, Germany.
TFP Student Action (Europe) organized a pro-life rally in Göttingen together with volunteers from the SOS Leben campaign to oppose the sin of abortion. The peaceful gathering consisted of praying the Rosary and distributing flyers to protect innocent life.

Leftists Unite Against Innocent Life
However, a crowd of pro-abortion activists soon assembled to disrupt the peaceful gathering and silence the volunteers by shouting and playing loud music through speakers. With each passing minute, the left-wing group grew larger, and the intensity of the disruptions increased.
The abortion advocates displayed signs expressing their views, including “Gay communism now” and “Make feminism a threat.” A flag of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (the German Green Party) was also visible. Supporters of homosexual vice, communism, abortion, feminism, and environmentalism united as one voice to oppose the TFP.

Pro-Abort Violence Intensifies
The counter-protesters then attempted to push their way toward the pro-life volunteers, but police stopped them by forming a human chain around the peaceful assembly. Objects were also thrown at the pro-life demonstrators, including nails.
The escalation intensified, however, when the TFP members made their way to their vehicles. The left-wing crowd lunged at them, while a thin police line held the aggressors back.
A pursuit then began through downtown Göttingen. The counter-protesters repeatedly used violence against police officers in an attempt to break through their lines and reach the pro-lifers. Again and again, police officers stopped the enraged crowd as the counter-protesters renewed their attacks.
Some individuals managed to slip through the police line and get close to the young pro-life volunteers. The TFP volunteers then assisted the police by using poles and other means to help keep the lines closed and prevent Antifa activists from breaking through.
12 Police Officers Injured
Finally, the police deployed pepper spray. This succeeded in stopping the counter-protest and allowed the pro-life volunteers to return safely to their vehicles.
According to news reports, 12 police officers sustained minor injuries during the confrontation. Law enforcement officials employed the use of force 200 times to stop the unruly crowd. Several ambulances were also called to the scene.
In a press release, the Göttingen police stated that the TFP volunteers had remained peaceful.
None of the participants from TFP Student Action or SOS Leben were injured.

“We will not be silenced"
The incident received media coverage. Although left-wing violence and intimidation are increasing, TFP Student Action (Europe) remains committed to its mission: defending the right to life and standing up for God’s law.
“We are fighting against the terrible sin of abortion,” said TFP volunteer Seppe van Loo. “Every day, thousands of innocent children are killed in their mothers’ wombs. Abortion activists are not only ruthless toward the unborn; they are also ruthless toward those who want to protect the innocent.”
“We will not be silenced. Neither insults nor threats nor mob violence will make TFP Student Action Europe abandon this noble crusade for God in the public square,” van Loo continued. “Loud, clear, and bold, we are not afraid to proclaim the truth. We will be the voice of the voiceless until the sin of abortion becomes unthinkable in Europe.”
