DePaul University Finally Disbands Planned Parenthood Club

Topics:

TFP Student Action is pleased to announce a win for moral values at DePaul University in Chicago. After months of protest, the Planned Parenthood student club—shockingly allowed at America’s largest Catholic university—has been officially disbanded.

This decision is the result of principled and prayerful resistance from thousands of students, parents, alumni, and faithful Catholics across the country who stood up for what is right. Over 17,000 people signed TFP Student Action’s petition urging DePaul’s administration to stay true to the university’s Catholic identity and reject all ties to the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Thanks to your voices, the pro-abortion club has been dissolved. That is a victory worth noting.

A Catholic Campus Should Never Promote the Culture of Death

This pro-life win is a moment of light—but it never should have been necessary. That a club affiliated with Planned Parenthood was approved in the first place at a Catholic institution is a scandal that cries to heaven.

Planned Parenthood is directly responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent lives. It aggressively pushes abortion, contraception, and sexual immorality that flies in the face of Catholic teaching and natural law. There is no moral grey area here. No Catholic university should ever—ever—give Planned Parenthood a platform, no matter how indirect.

Yet at DePaul, a student club promoted the abortion giant’s agenda with language that echoed Planned Parenthood’s talking points. By allowing this, DePaul’s administration sent a confusing and harmful message to its students and the broader Catholic community.

Standing Firm Pays Off

However, Catholics did not remain silent. TFP Student Action helped shine a spotlight on this travesty, exposing the scandal and rallying thousands to speak out. The pro-life movement knows the value of perseverance.

Let this be a reminder: bold, respectful, and unwavering defense of truth makes a difference. When faithful Catholics come together, we can move mountains—even in places where the culture of death seems deeply entrenched.

What’s Next?

While we thank God for this victory, the battle for souls is far from over. Catholic universities must return to their true mission: to form students in virtue, truth, and fidelity to the Church—not in moral relativism and pro-abortion activism.

Another area of concern is DePaul University’s current LGBTQ Studies program. The course not only undermines Catholic teaching, but also favors a culture of sin. DePaul should align its curriculum with Church teaching. LGBTQ Studies is nothing but a tool of the homosexual movement to recruit and train professional anti-family activists. Why is such harmful course allowed?

TFP Student Action remains committed to the noble fight for moral values. We will continue to call out scandals, mobilize, and defend the sacred right to life wherever it is threatened.

Please continue to pray and speak out for moral clarity in higher education. Let’s keep the pressure on—and let this victory be one among many more.

Thank you to everyone who signed the petition and took a stand. You made this victory possible.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle!
