Sacrilegious Film by Ulrich Seidl Meets With Protest
"A dog may bark in his master’s defense, and am I to stand by silent when God’s holy name is blasphemed? I would sooner die then forbear to speak." -- Saint Jerome
To defend Our Lord's honor, TFP Student Action volunteers joined dozens of America Needs Fatima members and New York City area Catholics on Sunday, September 1, to protest the blasphemous movie called Paradise: Faith. The immoral picture, produced by the Austrian film maker Ulrich Seidl, not only reviles the Catholic Faith, but depicts the crucifix of Our Lord Jesus Christ in a lewd manner.
Why is sacred Person of Our Lord repeatedly singled out for such vile attacks?
Movie-goers purchasing tickets at the Village East Cinema in Lower Manhattan met an unusual sight that day: a throng of faithful, both young and old, peacefully praying on the sidewalk in front of the cinema. "Reparation, reparation, reparation!" was chanted loudly and in unison between the recitation of each rosary. And hymns to Our Lady were sung.
A similar protest was also organized by the TFP in Los Angeles, California, earlier in the week.
Let us continue to work, fight and pray to banish blasphemy from our land and culture.
