Urge Pepperdine University NOT to Deport Columbus Statue: Stop Cultural Suicide
- February 06, 2017
At Pepperdine University in California "diversity" means a statue of Christopher Columbus is getting booted off campus to appease the radical left. "Diversity" means "give up your Catholic culture."
The president of Pepperdine, Mr. Andrew Benton, announced on January 30 that he plans to ship the statue of Columbus off to Italy because leftist students claim that it celebrates "oppression" and is "non-inclusive."
While leftist professors malign the good reputation of heroic explorers like Columbus, they extol savage Indians whose uncouth behavior included human sacrifice and cannibalism.
So -- let's remember.
Fact #1: Christopher Columbus brought Christian civilization to America.
Fact #2: Columbus was “extremely zealous for the honor and glory of God," wrote Bartolome de las Casas. "He deeply yearned for the evangelization of these peoples and for the planting and flourishing everywhere of people’s faith in Jesus Christ.”
Fact #3: Slavery was widespread among the native Indians when Columbus arrived.
Fact #4: Columbus insisted on the fair treatment of the Indians. He wrote: “I recognized that they were people who would be better freed [from error] and converted to our Holy Faith by love than by force.”
Tell Pepperdine to KEEP Columbus.
Please be respectful in your communications. God bless you.
