Pray for Chinese Catholics Who Are Persecuted and Betrayed
- February 18, 2021
How often do you hear about persecuted Christians in China?
Not too often. Not even from many church pulpits. However, anti-Catholic persecution has increased: communist officials in China destroy crosses and churches, kidnap Catholic clergy and work to suppress the Faith.
What can we do?
Well -- at the very least -- you and I can send them a LOUD message of prayerful support and a CLEAR rejection of communism.
Please sign your prayerful support for the persecuted Catholic heroes in China today.
According to a 2020 Pew Research Center report: “The Chinese government restricts religion in a variety of ways,” including “prohibiting certain religious practices, raiding places of worship and detaining and torturing individuals.”
In Fujian province, Catholic clergy were told to “practice the fundamental values of socialism.”
Sadly, a secret Vatican-China agreement was signed in 2018. Although the terms of the agreement remain unknown, the results are public: The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is now appointing Catholic bishops. And the faithful underground Catholics were betrayed.
Yet despite the brutal oppression, Christianity is growing.

“Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you” (Matt 5:11-12).
