While the Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny promotes abortion on demand in Ireland, Catholic Boston College plans to grant him an honorary degree and a platform at its commencement ceremonies on May 20.

TFP Student Action has launched a petition, urging Boston College to cancel Enda Kenny's scheduled appearence. So far the petition has garnered over 7,400 signers.

According to news reports, Enda Kenny "defied leaders of the Catholic Church on Monday, stressing his commitment to a scheduled vote on abortion legislation." (The Huffington Post, May 6, 2013)

The Irish Catholic bishops called the abortion bill "morally unacceptable."

Lauren Cody, president of the Boston College Pro-Life Club told TFP Student Action that she is "extremely disappointed in the university’s decision to honor a man who is dedicated to legalizing abortion on-demand in pro-life Ireland."

The Irish government under Kenny also attacked the freedom of the Church by attempting to force Catholic priests to break the Seal of Confession. In 2011, Kenny said: "...canon law would not be allowed to supersede state law." (The Catholic Herald, 07-18-11)

Take action.

Urge Boston College to rescind its invitation. Speak up for the unborn. Sign your petition and forward it to all your pro-life friends.
